About Rick

   When I was very young, my Mother, a piano teacher, introduced me to my long time friend the piano. I took lessons for many years and was always fascinated with how the Piano worked.

   After many years of selling pianos for various dealers, I opened a music store with the primary focus on Piano sales.

    During that time, I started and ran two schools of music with a teaching staff of 14, offering instruction
in Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, Voice, Brass and Woodwinds.

    My passion has always been in the tuning and the restoration of pianos. I am very fortunate to have been trained by, and mentored with two of the finest technicians in Canada. Education is very important to me.
I have attended over 100 classes in piano technology at Piano Technican conventions and conferences in Canada and the US, and have received specialized training at the Steinway Manufactory in New York!.

Some of the extensive training includes;

• I am a Dampp-Chaser (Piano Climate Control) Field Expert / Certified Installer

• I am a certified PianoDisc installer.

• Currently Working towards the Registered Piano Technician Designation

• I am very fortunate to have been selected three times to train at the prestigious C.F Theodore Steinway Academy, conducted at the Steinway and Sons manufactory in Long Island City, New York.

• Secretary of the Piano Technicians Guild in the Calgary Chapter.

• Piano Technicians Guild Associate Member.
